The ground floor was recently extensively redesigned to create a new bar, restaurant, reception and private dining suite. The Phoenix succeeded another famous hotel in Dereham, the King's Arms which stood overlooking the Market Place. It has been said that the Phoenix was so named as it rose like the mythical bird from the ashes of the King's Arms. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift.
The hotel policy is that Saturday night bookings are a minimum of a two night stay. Please be aware hotel front doors close after 11:30pm.
